From TheTaz@VERT/RCYLBBS1 to All on Monday, January 30, 2006 06:30:00
    Hello All:
I am new to Synchronet, about 6-8 months into it. I have a few questions.
    1. I don't much care for the way the stock sysop chat works, but the
stock private chat works very well. is there a way I can use
the "private chat" when I bring someone into chat as a sysop? for some
reason the typing hangs in the sysop chat and does not "flow" smoothly.

    2. I would also like to change the scan for new messages during the logon
to a NO_YES option. What file do I have to edit?

    3. I have made a lightbar driven main menu with baja and it seems
to work just fine. is there any reason I should not use that type of menu?

    TheTaz...

Actually the private chat and sysop chat use the same base code and suffered the same bug in v3.13a. This has already been fixed for the next release.

Each user has the option of automatic new message scan or not. If you want to prompt instead, you could modify your exec/logon.js.

    3. I have made a lightbar driven main menu with baja and it seems

Not if you and your users are happy with it.

hey, i prefer to use synchchat, and i just take command of the keyboard, and pop them in there for chatting.. i love it.

plus you can get node msgs while in there.

    plus i have it registered.

ps: love your lightbar menus, most are real annoying!

nah, it's more of a multinode chat room. you've been in it, dammit [on my bbs].

still, it's better than the internal sysop chat, or the multinode chat.
