• Where does log() write in Linux?

From Kirkman@VERT/GUARDIAN to All on Sunday, April 20, 2014 22:53:49
    Hi guys,

I am working on another little door game, and I wanted to use log() to help me debug it. But I can't figure out what file log() writes to. None of the logs I have checked (error.log, node.log, etc) have the data from my door.

My BBS is running under debian linux. Is the log file a linux file, or is it a synchronet file?

If you're running 'sbbs' interactively, then it's going to log to your console.
If you're running 'sbbs' daemonized, then it's going to log to syslog. See http://wiki.synchro.net/config:nix and http://wiki.synchro.net/monitor:syslog for details.
