Re: Using GoldED+ on the same machine as Synchronet

I have seen 1-2 old posts that it is possible to use GoldeED+ on systems with synchronet. Unfortunately I can't find any (even rudimentary) description of what needs to be done for this.
I have done that in the past, just for a look. Golded does not support <CTRL>A codes so they can look a little strange. I also just prefer the BBS message reader to golded so that is why I don't use it.
Do you have any tips how I can use GoldED+ as mail client for my Synchronet BBS? I use the latest version of Synchronet and also the latest version of Golded.
You'll need something like this in your golded.cfg..
AREAFILE Synchronet /sbbs/ctrl/msgs.cnf
Depending on your setup that might be enough, if it is then you are good to go. If golded is confused about your areas you may need to export the area config from golded to a file, fix it up and then comment out the areafile keyword above and include your fixed up areas.
A bit of stuff there, sorry I don't know a better way.
Also, Synchronet will always add a tear and origin line, so tell golded not to include them.

Ttyl :-),

... Is fire supposed to shoot out of it like that!?
