In his defense, he probably didn't realize that deleting one line would alter the page so drastically.

I was unkind in my edit comments, but only because of the $ surrounding $ annoyances. I hope people will go ahead and update / add to the wiki, especially knowing that any mistakes they make are easily corrected.

like seeing all the git/commit auto-posts that show up there,
keeps me aware of changes. I know they also eventually show up in
DoveNet, but it's a good source of info. Lots of real support
handed out in there. Even 'TM' has been seen in there recently...

You had every right to complain. You've done so and now it's getting repetitive.

You've said that if it happened to you, it could happen to somebody else. That's possible; any page on the wiki can be vandalized.

What you haven't done is propose a solution. What are you hoping will result from this discussion?

Worst case, change how access to the wiki is granted, which would be unfortunate and would generate more work for him. (Might not be too bad, though, depending on how it's done.)

I started using Synchronet in 2007, and I think I had heard he used to post on Dove-Net often before that? By that time, I had heard of Phil but I don't remember seeing him posting on Dove-Net when I started using Synchronet. There was a guy posting with the name "phil" several months ago, and there was a question if it was the same Phil, but I don't think that was confirmed.
