From The Lizard Master@VERT/NITEEYES to All on Tuesday, April 07, 2020 16:34:10
It seems like anytime I make a change to scfg and my sync recycles, the JS doors go down. I'm able to get them back up by restarting the server, and sometimes by restarting the service itself, but I can't seem to drill down what I do differently to get it up. Everytime it comes up on full server restart it appears right now.

I'm still trying to keep these questions to a minimum, even if they keep flying out of my mouth at the moment. I appreciate everyone's help!

It seems like anytime I make a change to scfg and my sync recycles, the JS doors go down.

Are you referring to only the JS doors that using the json-db service?

I often get this error, for example, during service startup or recycle:
4/6 04:19:42p 0000 JSON Dicewarz II background service initialized
4/6 04:19:42p 0000 JSON !JavaScript : uncaught exception: no host specified

I assume when this happens that Dicewarz II won't work until the services are succesfully recycled. I don't know the cause. Perhaps mcmllxix (if he were here) or echicken would know.

I'm able to get them back up by restarting the server, and
sometimes by restarting the service itself, but I can't seem to drill down what I do differently to get it up. Everytime it comes up on full server restart it appears right now.

Maybe look for that error (or similar) from the services log output and see if you're getting the same error. Then we'l have some confidence where to look first.

I'm still trying to keep these questions to a minimum, even if they keep flying out of my mouth at the moment. I appreciate everyone's help!

    No problem!

What do you mean by "go down"?

what I do differently to get it up.

    Maybe it needs some Viagra?

    Which JS games?

Any relevant messages in your logs from around the time of recycle/restart would be useful. Messages may relate to "JSON", "JSON-DB", and will probably also include the name of the game (or a short form). This would be the 'services' log.

I don't think anyone minds, just maybe give some more information. :)

Just catching up on these responses now, apologies. Still not sure, but I just reset the entire instance anytime I do any changes inside sfcg. Otherwise none of the JS doors work until I do.

They all seem to, all the default ones. The ones you made. Next time I make a change in scfg I'll post the log. It's not a huge deal to rebot the entire server when I make changes so I've just been doing that, but I can recreate the error pretty easily.
