    DM, et. al,

    I've just had an experience where a Fido downlink with an echolist key set
    in echocfg, and all of my domains configured with echolist keys, when he did
    a +All request was added to echoes outside of those in the Fidonet echolist.

    Do you have any idea what could cause this? I've noticed similar behavior in the past, but this time the downlink shared some othernets and I sent dupes through the other networks.

    make sure that you have

    Allow Nodes to Add Areas from Area File No

    in echocfg->echomail settings...

    if that is set to yes, it goes straight to the areas.bbs file ignoring all the other filters...

    Hello poindexter,

    Do you have any idea what could cause this?

    It's the access to areas.bbs that mark mentioned that causes this. One you turn
    that off this won't happen anymore.

    I've noticed similar behavior in the past, but this time the downlink shared some othernets and I sent dupes through the other networks.

    The default of nodes being able to add any areas in your areas.bbs works fine for most nodes that have just one net and not feeding other nodes. If you are feeding other nodes and have more than one net then it's a good idea to turn that off.

    Once you do that nodes can only access areas in the area lists you give them access to so you'll want to be sure those are up to date.

    The relevant log output and sections from your sbbsecho.ini file would help to determine what's going on there.

    That might do the trick - thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
