Hi All, I posted this on Facebook and will now do it here.. I am looking to set up SynchroNet as a Door Server, I have tried GameSvr it's nice but with Synchro it adds a lot to the equation. I can use it to import NewsGroups, and can use Synchro Doors with it in addition to the other doors.
Here is my dilemma, the software runs as it is supposed to, I set the flag in modopts.ini to true for door server. After getting past the login prompt it pretty much goes straight to the doors menu. Perfect, now you all know what
is coming next, I want to RLOGIN to it like you can do with all of the other Door Servers out there, my issue is this, I pass the username and a fake password to Synchro and it wants me to log on new. Is there any way to get past that issue?? I know I could tell users to just create an account and next time they go into it everything would be fine, but that's a bit messy. Anyone have any sure fire ways to get it to just take the username passed from the other BBS and use that and the fake PW?? I'm all ears.. Anyone have any ideas??
Did you try just turning off the new user questions in SCFG->System->New User Questions?
There's no such concept of a "fake password" in Synchronet. The user account will be created with the password specified. It's not fake. And yes, a user account must be created.

Thanks for the info DM, yes everything is off, in fact I have it down to jus Terminal question which is fine, hitting enter on Handle which is also fine, but it asks the user to leave a message to the sysOp. Is there a way around that?? The screens after that are no big deal. If I can get past the leaving the sysOp a message then I think I am set..

Thank you.. I'm a hard head when it comes to docs. Sorry for wasting all of AD>your time.. I'll learn eventually..
All of us were beginners at one time.
Daryl
Thanks Daryl, only problem is I am not a beginner, I am just too lazy to rea AD>the docs! You don't know how much trouble that gets me in! LOL Thanks again, AD>pretty much got everything the way I want it now..
Al,
Well, you've heard the RTFM deal, I'm sure. But, the tagline below
comes to mind.
LOL Yes I fall into the "Skim the docs" part.. LOL My first BBS back in 1986 AD>was run on C-Net 64 11.1a, I read that manual front to back for 3 days befor AD>I converted from the older 10.0 version. I hit the ground running. By the AD>time I went to Image BBS in 1988 it was old hat. I didn't read the docs at AD>all.. Today? I forgot more then I will ever know.. So skimming the docs is AD>about right for me.. ;)
