then you've been lied to... hell, my perimeter firewall is a linux system and every one of my internal machines, workstations or servers, all run a firewall on them... antivirus is another thing, though... there are virii for linux but they are not as prevelent as those for winwhatever or macos with their users that click on most anything... that's not to say that there aren't linux users that do the same, though...
another thing is that much of today's stuff better falls under malware instead of virus... why? because it takes a user to kick it off and let it loose by clicking on something they think is something else due to the social engineering around the link...
for example: i see spam about something to do with my bank account and i can immediately reject it because i have no bank account anywhere so that social engineering scare tactic won't/can't work on me... if i clicked on it, it is probably a phishing page trying to get my credentials or it could be part of a malware infection chain of sites or it could be both...
