just grabbed the latest cvs and it does fail to compile. Linux src.
Currently remote and can't dig around until later.
The overnight build was successful (Debian 9):
System: cvs - Linux 4.9.0-8-amd64 x86_64
00:00 - cvs co src-sbbs3
00:01 - cvs co lib
00:02 - tar --exclude=*output.txt -czvf sbbs_src.tgz *
08:58 - src/sbbs3 gmake RELEASE=1
-----
09:01 - total
And I just did manual cvs-update and clean build, success.
This was my bad. My issues were completely different - apologies, and more aplogies for the delay in responding I only arrived home about 45 minutes ago and just now had time to dig around.
Something broke in my VM when I performed a world update yesterday.
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/8.3.0/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: /home/sbbs/src/sbbs3/../conio/gcc.linux.x64.lib.debug/libciolib_mt.a(curs_cio.o): undefined reference to symbol 'keypad'
/lib64/libtinfo.so.6: error adding symbols: DSO missing from command line collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
gmake[1]: *** [GNUmakefile:193: gcc.linux.x64.exe.debug/echocfg] Error 1 gmake[1]: Leaving directory '/home/sbbs/src/sbbs3'
gmake: *** [GNUmakefile:151: sbbs3] Error 2
Had a mess of libraries that needed rebuilding via revdep-rebuild and said the hell with it and just rolled back the VM and CVS updated, and then built everything successfully.
As for the above error and before rolling back, I rebuilt ncurses ( that supplies libtinfo.so ) and tried to build and the same error occurred, so IDNWTFISGO with why the error is occurring. I'll have more time this weekend to update world again.
thanks for looking anyway, DM
