It was addressed to me as false false #527 and yet I received it. Someone knows my user number and logs on to Vertrauen and sends it there. When I pressed v for spam it said you have no spam??? I keep getting these politics emails called the hill sent to me for some reason. How do I stop the spamming then?

It happens sometimes. One time I created a new email address somewhere, and as an experiment, I didn't use it at all for anything, and after a while I started receiving spam emails at that address. People find email addresses and then start sending spam to them.

It happens sometimes. One time I created a new email address

if it was never used or published openly, it was likely found via a dictionary attack...

People find email addresses and then start sending spam to them.

sometimes they just make them up and hope something sticks to the wall... that's why the preview modes in email readers are so dangerous... they'll hide 1x1 pixel graphics in the message and the preview will make a request for the image unless loading remote images is specifically turned off...

they'll link the graphic with a code that signifies the list that spam run came
from... they simply look in their logs and see the request... then they can say, "ok, there's a hit from this list of 1000" so they'll make another list with some of those and keep doing this until they whittle the list down to viable email addresses...
