Probably websrvr.c, but could be something else. I only vaguely recall some kind of problem with chunked transfers within the past few months; this may be unrelated. If your build is 2+ months old it might be
worth updating to see if it helps.

So, now I have another weird problem - after DM fixed the earlier error with SBBS running inet_ntop, and it being not able to run under XP,

When I replaced my executables with the newest sbbs_dev from 9/1,
sbbsecho.exe opens briefly, and closes after 1-2 seconds. I saw the
    following in error.log:

    Sun Sep 1 07:27:52 2019
    mail !Invalid temp directory: c:\sbbs\temp\

ftp Error 17 creating temp directory: c:\sbbs\temp\

(I didn't have the temp directory set in SBBS.ini)

I tried running sfcg, and got the following error message:

    Main configuration file (C:\sbbs\ctrl\main.cnf) missing!

But, it exists and I can list the file.

    C:\sbbs\ctrl>dir main.cnf
Volume in drive C has no label.
    Volume Serial Number is 749D-D921

    1 File(s) 6,983 bytes
    0 Dir(s) 461,146,697,728 bytes free

I tried setting the temp variable in sbbs.ini to /sbbs/temp and
    c:\sbbs\temp, to no avail.

With no configuration changes, my binaries from June 2019 runs just fine - with the exception of the lag when loading web pages.

    - It has the subject "Re: New Terminator movie coming out", but it's not about the Terminator movie at all
    - The Terminator thread was in the Entertainment sub-board, but this is the Synchronet Discussion sub-board

Strange. I don't have any obvious explanation. Is it possible you have security software installed which is treating the 2 differen sets of executables (the "old binaries" and the new ones) differently?

I'm running Avast, and I've done the same routine a couple of times a year - download sbbs_run.zip and sbbs_dev.zip, replace the executables, and re-run sbbsctrl. I'll try it without Avast running and see what the issue is.

I thought I was stuck with XP because of licensing issues, didn't want to
put Windows 7 on a system to have it go EOL next year.

I tested this weekend that you can still upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10
using the media creation tool and an upgrade DVD/USB stick. I may try installing a fresh copy of synchronet onto a new drive with Windows 10 this weekend, as my current copy of Synchronet is the same one I started with in 2005! It's been upgraded continually, and I'm sure there's some cruft left over from so many upgrades.

Thanks, DM, eC and Mark for looking into this.

I thought I was stuck with XP because of licensing issues, didn't want to put Windows 7 on a system to have it go EOL next year.

I tested this weekend that you can still upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 using the media creation tool and an upgrade DVD/USB stick.
