• Disabling feedback - limiting registration data

From Arelor@VERT to All on Monday, August 12, 2019 11:10:51
    Hello everybody!

I recently started playing with Synchronet. I am
still getting my head around the documentation.

Sorry if it has been already asked or covered in
the documentation, for I have fond information
    to this effect, but...

I'd like to know if there is a way to configure
a synchronet instance not to ask for so much data
from new users at registration. I'd like to skip
    all the age/location/feedback process if
possible. Is there an official recommended way
    to achieve this?

Aside from the other feedback offered, if you'd like to disable the new user feedback option you can set that here..

Scfg -> Nodes -> Node?? -> Advanced Options -> Validation User. Set it to 0 for
    each of your nodes.

One tip, you don't actually have to make this change for "each of your nodes", just the node associated with the "FirstNode" value in the [bbs] section of your ctrl/sbbs.ini file (i.e. usually, Node 1).

They might be using a terminal less than 80 characters wide, making the lines wrapped shorter than usual.

Which is why flowed-text (line-line-paragraphs) is a better way to go. Both slyedit and fseditor.js use that method now! :-)
