you originally replied "what" to HusTler who wrote the "What color is this?" question... the funny thing is that color codes are stripped when messages are sent via some of the various available methods :)

I think the color stripping is an option in SCFG when messages are posted in a sub-board; I'm not sure it matters what method the message came in.

    but yet quoted from me?

yup, that's my writing... how'd you get the To: field so wrong?

I think the color stripping is an option in SCFG when messages are
    posted in a sub-board;

    it is...

I'm not sure it matters what method the message came in.

it could if the receiver strips or converts them ;)

And to this end they built themselves a stupendous super-computer which was
so amazingly intelligent that even before its data banks had been connected
up it had started from "I think therefore I am" and got as far as deducing
the existence of rice pudding and income tax before anyone managed to turn
    it off.

I was replying to a message that you wrote to MRO. So I think the "To:" field is correct. I was just replying as I normally do and didn't change the To: field.

Also, I noticed the subject of the thread changed somehow. I didn't change that; I was just replying to a message you wrote to MRO about the yellow/orange color stuff. Yet the message subject somehow changed to "movie sequels", and it had the line about writing to The Millionaire.. I'm not sure how that happened. I'm not sure if something somehow got cris-crossed with the movie sequels thread in the other sub-board (I think that one is in Dove-Net General or Entertainment?). Weird..

It matters. For example, we don't support sending Ctrl-A codes over NNTP.

nope, the To: field arrived here as To: Millionaire as also shown in the quote header... you might not have changed it but something did...

yup... it was that and the To: field in the header with my text and you writing
as if you were talking to me that caught my eye and thus my reply...

what editor are you using? there was a problem with one editor some time (several years) back where it would pick up the wrong From: name and use those initials instead of the proper ones but you don't seem to be using that... that
might be a similar problem to explain why/how the subject line got changed, though...

my previous message was written from my point system using golded on the fidonet side of the fence... this one is also on the fidonet side but written from my UTF-8 console terminal using deuce's fseditor... i've not edited anything in the header at all... i didn't edit anything in the header previously, either ;)

That particular message has 'mark lewis' in the To: field on my system. So on my system it looks fine.. So I'm wondering if the header was somehow messed up between leaving my BBS and getting to yours.

The editor I'm using is SlyEdit - Which I wrote. That particular problem with the from initials was due to a couple different bugs which have long since been fixed. I'm also using my message reader though, but when I reply with it, it just calls Synchronet's API for replying to a message and fills in the To: name with the author of the message I was reading. I've never seen this happen before - and as I mentioned above, the To: name in that message is correct on my BBS.
