I pay a whoping $5/yr for my Google Drive, 50gb and unlimited storage of lower resolution photos (like 8megabit I think, enough to print the image at 8"x10"x600dpi)

I lost a computer several years ago, probably the first time I've not lost any sensative documents/photos.

That sounds like a good deal. I'm looking at https://one.google.com/storage?i=m and I don't see that plan listed (or anything about unlimited photos).

Cool. I recently backed-up all the personal JPGs I could locate and it was over 500GB. I pay for Office 365 ($99/yr), so I get the 1TB OneDrive storage and it's been enough... so far.

Yeah, I use OneDrive, because it comes with my Office365 subscription. Might as well get the most out of what I'm already spending.

man i had insane space with yunpan360. that asian company that is like symantech over in china. they shut it down. i had like 30TB of space. there were games you could play that were fun and you'd win more space. you could also share links to other people so it became a huge file sharing site and that's what got it shut down.

the phone app was better than dropbox. anything sensative i had i encrypted before putting it up there, though.

The specific plan I have is no longer offered (grandfathered in), as for unlimited photos, it's not exactly that, but if you goto photos.google.com there's an option to backup all images at a "High Quality", and there's no limit on how many you can store (doesn't count against your drive size).

It'll even take the photos you already uploaded and compress them for you if you want.

Compressed photos are still big enough to print them at 8x10 size. Pretty nice. I have photos from 2005 on there.

Also photos.google.com is amazing. Searching for things such a "Dogs", colors, or what have you is so useful.

Oh, cool. I see that option even on the free (15GB) plan. Maybe good for another (lossly) photo-backup location. If you don't mind Google looking at all your photos and profiling you. :-)
