    Rob, this has prob been asked and answered, but I can't find any reference to it, so I'll ask. When you log into your system, the first thing that you see is Inter-BBS Active Users:... What is this program. Is their a module I can activate to use this on my system. I've checked other sbbs systems, and yours appears to be the only one with this feature. Just Curious. Thanks.

    Many SysOps have the module active ... that's why I disabled ActiveUser ports on my system ... the requests were constant and clogging my board almost as a DoS :-( ... my board runs much faster by blocking incoming ActiveUser requests

    It's the same list that's on the chat menu, but with the ones that are online only, without the inactive systems. I don't think 3 or 4 systems will make any noticable difference in speed. I've got a relative fast system on win 10, with most active ports that synchronet uses plus a few more, and I don't see any speed changes. Thanks for your feedback however, as I value everyone oppinion.

    I can share my logs with you, I was getting ActiveUser-UDP requests every second
    for 2 days ... I was wondering why it was taking 3 minutes to load a door game or the Web interface ... as soon as I disabled ActiveUser-UDP services loads took 1 second ... just saying :/

    Yeah, it's a UDP request and response. I suppose if there's some issue with a new JavaScript context being spun-up and destroyed for each request, you'd notice that issue (if there was one) more so with a frequently hit service, but then you'd have a problem with virtually *all* the requests to the Synchronet services (not just the finger/activeusers service).

    Rob, this has prob been asked and answered, but I can't find any reference to it, so I'll ask. When you log into your system, the first thing that you
    see is Inter-BBS Active Users:... What is this program. Is their a module I
    can activate to use this on my system. I've checked other sbbs systems, and
    yours appears to be the only one with this feature. Just Curious. Thanks.

    You're the first to ask. :-)

    can i stop the lgging for this service only?
    i flood my log. =|

    When using the below command line, all I get is
    Inter-BBS Active Users: with a spinning curser under it.

    Command Line ?sbbsimsg -l

    If I use ?sbbsimsg with no command line, it works fine, but
    has the menu at the bottom to message or list or quit.

    I'm using sbbsimsg.js with a file date of 2/9/2019. I also tried
    the newer one you posted with the same results. What am I missing?

    I'm not seeing any log errors

    When using the below command line, all I get is
    Inter-BBS Active Users: with a spinning curser under it.

    Command Line ?sbbsimsg -l

    For how long? The default timeout is 2.5 seconds. At least after 2.5 seconds of no responses, it should exit back to whatever called it.

    If I use ?sbbsimsg with no command line, it works fine, but
    has the menu at the bottom to message or list or quit.

    Maybe you just need a longer timeout. If you pass a number (of milliseconds) after the '-l' argument, it'll use that as a timeout value. For example, 'sbbsimsg -l 5000' would give you a 5 second poll timeout.

    I'm using sbbsimsg.js with a file date of 2/9/2019. I also tried
    the newer one you posted with the same results. What am I missing?

    Also confirm you have the latest load/sbbsimsg_lib.js

    See the message I just left Rob. I'm running it from a logon only external. When I run it from the exec sysop command it works fine, I have to set the time interval to 30ms or more. I'm beginning to think it may be a port issue with the time it takes to get results, but I don't know which port imsg uses. Considering it's working without the -l switch, I'm gonna concentrate on other areas that could affect it for now.

    Got it working. Moved the command to the Logon.js as

    // List Inter-BBS Chat Users
    bbs.exec("?sbbsimsg -l");
    console.clear();

    and it works like a charm.
