• Mail Alias

    From Plt@VERT/SBBS to All on Wednesday, January 09, 2019 12:41:48
    Question: I included a email alias for a while and then I deleted but I am still getting mail address to that alias. Should it be rejecting the email since it no longer exist? If there something else that I need to do to make sure it's removed. The alias name no longer exist in the email alias file.

    Maybe take a look at ctrl/alias.cfg and see if any of the rules in there might be redirecting these messages to you. They may be getting picked up by a rule with wildcards in it or something.

    Look at your mail server log output to see what's going on. It sounds like you might have the Default Recipient/User option set, in which case you would see a log entry like this when mail is received for an unknown user and sent to the default recipient instead:
    Forwarding mail for UNKNOWN USER to default user

    The file includes only two individual users and the one that is accepting mail no longer exist in that file.

    If you are referring to the DefaultUser value in the [mail] section of your ctrl/sbbs.ini file, yes, the default is blank:
