I am trying to fix a botched upgrade, in my Windows version of SBBS. I currently get an avatar error .... So I'm following the steps outlined on the upgrade page. I cannot seem to be able to click on the text.dat file to download it.

if I access this via the web... click on it it opens in a new window. If I
try to cut and paste that... it gets butchered ... double spaces and what
not. I did login to vert... there was a file that said it was the latest text.dat file and it was a copy of a txt directory.

Who do I have to have coitus with to get a good-latest copy of the text.dat file.

Thanx... trying to update my windows version... given up on my Pi version. With my windows version I'm trying to follow line by line the upgrade process... and I cannot get past the text.dat file.

I download the tar.bar ( http://cvs.synchro.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/ ) and unzip
it and keep a copy so I can get all the files and leave the programming ones alone, it beats copy and paste jobs and it goes faster

Maybe try a different browser? http://cvs.synchro.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/ctrl/text.dat

Right-click the link, select download file.

It probably wasn't the latest. What was the exact filename you downloaded? It's size and date?

You could download sbbs_run.zip or .tgz, it'll have a copy of ctrl/text.dat in it as well. Or even sbbsctrl.zip/tgz. You have a lot of options.

Finally fixed the upgrade for my windows version of SBBS... and for whatever reason InterNET Rex seems to be working as well..

reading between the lines, i pointed you to the sbbs_run file so you could extract the text.dat from it... it is likely a zip file so look for sbbs_run.zip...
