• Echomail processing?

    From Jeff Smith@VERT to Digital Man on Monday, November 12, 2018 11:46:34
    Hello There,

    I did a fresh install of SBBS (Synchronet BBS for Linux Version 3.17a Revision a Nov 10 2018 14:08 SMBLIB 2.60 GCC 5.4.0) and am using BinkIt for mail/file transfers. BinkIt seems to be working ok. But when mail is received and sbbsecho processes the inbound mail I get the following log entries:

    2018-11-11 13:42:37 Unauthenticated COOKING EchoMail from 1:282/1031 ignored 2018-11-11 13:42:37 Unauthenticated FDN_ANNOUNCE EchoMail from 1:282/1031 ignored
    2018-11-11 13:42:37 Unauthenticated FIDO-REQ EchoMail from 1:282/1031 ignored 2018-11-11 13:42:37 Unauthenticated WEATHER EchoMail from 1:282/1031 ignored

    SBBS is setup to use 1:282/1032 as it's default AKA.

    In the sbbsecho.ini file I have the following as a node entry for 1:282/1031

    [node:1:282/1031@fidonet]
    BinkpHost=bbs.ouijabrd.net
    BinkpPort=24554
    SessionPwd=<password>
    BinkpPoll=yes

    I am suspecting that it is a simple oversight on my part. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hello There,

    Hi. You can send questsion to "All".

    I did a fresh install of SBBS (Synchronet BBS for Linux Version 3.17a Revision a Nov 10 2018 14:08 SMBLIB 2.60 GCC 5.4.0) and am using BinkIt for mail/file transfers. 2018-11-11 13:42:37 Unauthenticated COOKING EchoMail from 1:282/1031 ignored

    The mail is being received as non-secure. EchoMail must either be received in your secure inbound or be password protected (one or the other, at least).

    I am suspecting that it is a simple oversight on my part. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Check your logs for the connections with that link to see whether they are being detected as secure or non-secure.

    the above is from his linked nodes section ;)

    there's numerous additional fields that probable should have some data (eg: passwords) but they are not shown above... well, except for the session level one which is properly redacted...

    Very different from what mine looks like. Then again, I route everything through my hub at 1:396/45.
