    I am having some trouble posting to DoveNet via NNTP with Thunderbird:

    TB: The message could not be posted because connecting to the news server failed.

    SYSLOG: Oct 4 15:22:08 Eldritch sbbs: srvc 0074 NNTP [DOVE-Net.Synchronet_Discussion] cmd: POST

    I imagine this is a SMTP issue, but is there a way to receive more verbose debugging for NNTP?

    SBBS.INI: LogLevel=Debugging & under Services (if it even works there): Options=NO_HOST_LOOKUP | DEBUG_RX | DEBUG_TX

    Posting through ECweb working fine.

    Thanks!

    Should have nothing to do with SMTP.

    SBBS.INI: LogLevel=Debugging & under Services (if it even works there): Options=NO_HOST_LOOKUP | DEBUG_RX | DEBUG_TX

    Try adding '-d' to your nntpservice.js command-line (in services.ini):

    Command=nntpservice.js -d

    Did you setup your newsreader to authenticate first?

    are you only have this mesage on post event?

    i have a random "connection with server failed" when browsing messages
    on thunderbird.. but the server never receive the connection, then i
    think that this a TB bug on nntp not sbbs.

    also, you must activate the authenticacion on thunderbird to post messages.(check it first)

    On post is the only time it appears to be in the log for SBBS.

    I get the random connection failed error every now and then also.

    I have been suspicious of Thunderbird also.

    I have this console error:

    TypeError: this.chromeUtilsWindow.openUILinkIn is not a function[Conocer
    más] hudservice.js:425:5

    Can you verify at your TB console for errors?

    I will have to catch it when it happens I guess. I dont have any errors
    right now.

    There was an update I just installed so I am on v60.3.0 now.

    I was never able to get TB to display anything bit I was recently
    playing around with Claw Mail and it logs everything.
    Occasionally I see this which causes the client to hang:
    * getting xover 1189 - 1194 in DOVE-Net.Unix_Discussion...
    [12:05:13] NNTP> XOVER 1189-1194
    ** couldn't get xover range
    ** couldn't get xover

    I dont have access to check SBBS logs currently but something
    is going on there. I will have to run smbutil and make sure I dont
    have any errors.
    Another six months and I should figure this out. haha.
