One of my downlinks has reported an issue with tickit. They are also
running synchronet and tickit. Apparently, when my board adds my address,
it adds the "@micronet" at the end. When his board gets the tic with the domain included, it spins out of control as described by Nigel Reed/Neglin below.
It sounds like the user has patched tickit to prevent the endless loop on
the receiving end, but the adding of the domain issue by the hub still
exists.

My patch just deals with incoming tic files with the @domain added to the

@domain. I don't use that feature so I wouldn't even know where to look,
sorry.
So you actually patched it and not deuce?
I did not realize that. I probably need to report the addition of the domain as an issue (IF it is an issue).
Well, it is an issue unless running the patched ticket. Basically the
tickit.js will run in a new thread and get stuck in an infinite loop which
will make sbbs take up 100% and generally start dying. While not impossible
to find the PID of a thread, not a lot of people are going to know it off
the top of their head or may not even realize sbbs runs a bunch of threads which isn't visible from a regular ps command.
So, yes, it should probably be reported that tic files should not be
generated with a @domain prefix on the From: line but if they are, at least
the issue is mitigated.

Nelgin's change:
it should fix the issue of tic files being generated with @domain added to
the From: line and putting tickit into an endless loop.
