• Fidoin event

From Michael Pierce@VERT/FLUXCAP to All on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 09:25:35
when going through my timed events, trying to create a poll event, I accidently deleted my fidoin event (do not remember receiving a yes/no prompt) can
someone post the contents of that event?? I looked on the wiki, I could not find an example

also, could someone post how to do a timed poll event for binkd in scfg ?

    Thanks
    Michael

My fidoin command line is %!sbbsecho%. -ce. I'm running a current synchronet 3.17a on linux.

    http://wiki.synchro.net/util:sbbsecho#command_line

gives more info on the command line options for sbbsecho.

also, could someone post how to do a timed poll event for binkd in scfg ?

With Binkd Proper (as apposed to BinkIT)? When I ran binkd my crontab wouold touch the flo files for the nodes I wanted to poll. This is my crontab I used with binkd.

    20 */8 * * * touch /sbbs/fido/outbound/00991e23.dlo
    21 */8 * * * touch /sbbs/fido/outbound.00b/00010064.dlo
    10 */8 * * * touch /sbbs/fido/outbound.015/00040064.dlo
    12 */3 * * * touch /sbbs/fido/outbound.02c/00640000.dlo
    14 */3 * * * touch /sbbs/fido/outbound.13c/00240001.dlo

    Thanks for the help Al

    http://wiki.synchro.net/util:sbbsecho#command_line

this does give basic generic idea but does not give built-in event examples

now when I went to re-add fidoin, I hit delete by mistake and there was no prompt to confirm that I really wanted to delete an event so now I lost my fidoout as well!!!!!

There are examples of the timed events there in the wiki.. maybe try util:sbbsecho without the #command_line.

    Here you go:

    Execution Time 00:00
    Requires Exclusive Execution No
Force Users Off-line For Event No
    Native Executable Yes
    Use Shell to Execute No
    Background Execution No
    Always Run After Init/Re-init No

    Internal Code FIDOOUT
    Start-up Directory
    Command Line %!sbbsecho%. -ni
    Enabled Yes
    Execution Node 12
    Execution Months Any

When you exit back the main menu in SCFG, if changes were made, it prompt if you want to save those changes. If you didn't purposely make any changes, answer "No" to that prompt.
