• DynDNS isn't "dyning"

May be related to the recent disk-space-related crash of Vertrauen, but ...

Due to some computer issues on my end my BBS was down for over a month. In
the course of events I ended up getting a new computer, after finally
getting the old one working, and got to start all over again installing
    Linux etc.

I decided to start with a fresh installation of sbbs from the CVS on the new machine and just restore my data and web directories and my sbbs.ini and services.ini files. A little tweaking and the BBS was running again, except when I ping coffee.synchro.net I get replies from my old IP, 122.52.72.162
but my ISP has changed it to 49.145.115.54.

My system log says "evnt !dynamic DNS header not found" and "evnt Timed
    event: DYNDNS returned 0".

I'm also not able to download any QWK packets for DoveNET sub-boards, but at this point I don't know if that's due to the loss of recent messages on Vertrauen's end or if it's an issue on my end, and if the latter whether
it's related to the dyndns issue. Best to try to fix one thing at a time and see what happens.

Yes, that was precisely the problem! Now fixed (restored a backup of the synchro.net zone file from April 28th). You should be able to force a DYNDNS update again and get your new/current IP address associated to your hostname.

I didn't have to force it. It's already showing the correct IP this morning, and new DoveNet mesages are beginning to show up too. Thanks!
