    Hello, Rob.

I set a sub-board to work with Fileserver and works fine.
    Fileserver
send and post messages in area from/to subscribed emails.

But the sub-board is a Fido echo and the messages posted by Listserver
are not exported to Fidonet. SBBSECHO ignored them.

    I need a help. :-)

Have you set "Gate between networks" to "Yes" in the configuration for
the sub? You need this for mailing list posts to appear in echomail
and vice versa. I have a number of echoes linked to mailing lists
hosted by Synchronet, and it all works very well, once setup correctly.

Thanks, Tony. I've set. Newbie things... :-D

a car with a manual. My car lets you manually shift up & down if you want, but that just isn't the same as driving a true manual. One time I looked

I rented a car with that feature once, but didn't realize it until I had accidentally put it into "manumatic" mode. Found myself driving away from an airport in Oklahoma at a ridiculously low speed, engine going nuts. Figured it out quickly enough, but that was a frustrating and mildly concerning ten seconds or so.

My jeep does that, and it likes to do it a lot. If you accidently tap it to the right a little too hard when putting in drive, it goes into "manual" mode. I find myself pulling out on the highway and getting up to 6000 rpm before realizing. I like bump shifting. but that is just stupid. either make it fully manual or fully automatic. I like both, but enjoy automatic more and more, the older I get.

When I wanted to get a Drivers License I called Yellow Cab Drivers School
and asked them if they had a car that had a Manual Transmission.

The first day the Instructor helped me learn to drive a Stick Shift car,
but told me that I ought to learn how to drive one with Automatic
Transmission because it would be easier on me when I took the Driving Test.

Iirc, I paid Yellow Cab Inc. about $25 USD for three days of Training back
    in the mid-1960s.

After I got my Drivers License I rented a car for one week end.

Some time later I decided to buy my first car, a used 1965 Ford Custom 500
with a 352 Engine and Automatic Transmission.

I remember the story about someone bought a Plymouth with Push-Button
    Automatic Transmission.

They were stopped at a Red Traffic Light and the driver next to them wanted
    to Race the new Plymouth.

So the Plymouth driver pressed the L Button (for LEAP) and headed down the road.

The other car was still ahead so the D Button (for DRAG) was pressed.

The Plymouth still couldn't catch up to the other car so the R Button
(for RACE) was pressed to get up more speed.

After pressing the R Button they didn't know what had happened..........

Here, it's recommended to learn to drive a manual, then when you do the test, you can drive any car (subject to some power limits for new young drivers). If you pass the test on an automatic, you can only drive automatics.

My first car was a manual, as is my current car. Love driving manuals, more so since doing some emergency service driver training a few years ago, which really improved my skills - how best to manage handle a car safely (and rapidly, if necessary).

6000 rpm before realizing. I like bump shifting. but that is just stupid. either make it fully manual or fully automatic. I like both, but enjoy automatic more and more, the older I get.

The only reason I can think of when I'd want to use the up/down shifting on an automatic is if I were going downhill and wanted to downshift for engine braking rather than using up my brakes going downhill.

Also, perhaps in the snow when you may need to downshift to help go slower without using the brakes so you don't slide in the snow.

don't want to risk someone mistreating a car with a manual anymore..

I suppose the rental companies won't rent a Dodge Challenger Hellcat to someone who has a urge to put the Petal To The Metal for a day or two.

Hertz found out the hard way when it started renting Shelby GT-350's in 1966. Guys would rent them for the weekend, go to the track and have a blast or, switch out the Hi-proformance 289 for a stock 289 or even a
    260.

Thanks for telling me about the Shelby GT-350 being rented out by Hertz.
It was a Rental Agency owned by a Car Dealer where I rented the Car.

Even today, the black and gold Shelby's tend to be priced lower when
    they come to0 auction.

I will have to mention that to a neighbor, he knows all about Muscle Cars
and probably knows about that too, but I'll check with him about it.

When I wanted to get a Drivers License I called Yellow Cab Drivers
School and asked them if they had a car that had a Manual Transmission.

The first day the Instructor helped me learn to drive a Stick Shift
car, but told me that I ought to learn how to drive one with Automatic Transmission because it would be easier on me when I took the Driving Test.

Iirc, I paid Yellow Cab Inc. about $25 USD for three days of Training
    back in the mid-1960s.

At 13, my Dad threw me the keys to a 1963 B-61 Mack with a two stick
4x4. He said, go teach yourself how to drive. Not much horsepower back then but enough torque to knock a building down. Still doing it 52
    years later.. :)

I never drove a 4X4, the trucks I drove at work had the 3 speed Shift Lever
    on the floor.
I learned to Put it in GRANNY Gear going down steep hills.

Some time later I decided to buy my first car, a used 1965 Ford Custom
500 with a 352 Engine and Automatic Transmission.

    An early FE block. :)

You know more about it than I do.
I still remember the Registration Number for that Ford Custom 500
    5U52X100357

I still remember that the 2X in the number was the Paint Color,
    Palomino Metallic.

The only reason I can think of when I'd want to use the up/down
shifting on an automatic is if I were going downhill and wanted to downshift for engine braking rather than using up my brakes going downhill.

Particularly important for off road driving, if you don't have an automatic downhill control. I've done driving down 30 degree slopes in a Prado. No downhill control, so it was in "1" on the automatic transmission in low range to negotiate the downslope. So yes, the downshift does have uses.

And yes, I would also downshifting on the road for long, steep downhill stretches, though more likely to downshift only one below "D" on road, unless it's on back streets.

Also, perhaps in the snow when you may need to downshift to help go
slower without using the brakes so you don't slide in the snow.

In snow you have to avoid any rapid speed changes by any means (brakes or engine), or sudden changes of direction. Downshifting may give you more control.
