that depends on which web interface you are using on your system... some already have everything in place and you simply need to edit the proper file to enable one thing to make it work...

Well I'm using ECWEB with a very old telnet version and want to upgrade.

An up to date copy of ecweb v4 would use the latest available version of ftelnet. I think it might take 24 hours to recheck for a new release; I don't remember the details.

If you're using ecweb v3, consider upgrading. It is unsupported.

If you're using ecweb v4, maybe think about updating it.
