... A bad day: "Transfer completed (5720468 bytes, 1 CPS)"

I'm just lurking through some Echos today and saw Your Tagline and
wanted to let You know it "made my day"!

At the end I noticed that the Standard used wasn't HURTS (HZ) but
    Cycles Per Second.

    Good For You!

BTW, last week I was sitting in the Doctors Waiting Room watching their Television set that showed medical shows on a closed channel when I saw
the local weather forcast showed it would be 11 Degrees that night.

I thought it was going to be really cold that night until later after
I left the Doctors Office and learned the Low Temperature for that night
was going to be in the Low 50's F.

I supposed the Forcast that I saw on the TV Set was in Fahrenheidt (sp?)
but it was Centigrade instead. BAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If that Private TV Channel had put a C after the Low of 11 I wouldn't had gotten so confused, and mentioned to others in the Waiting Room how Cold
    it was going to be.

So did I, given that it was a data transfer rate, which was never measured in Hz (or cycles per second). But characters per second was very common back in the day.

Yeah, cycles per second/Hz doesn't really make sense for a data transfer rate.. I was familiar with characters per second.

120 Volts A.C. 60 Cycles Per Second will give your fingers 60 Hurts A Second
if you hold the bare wires of a A.C. Line Cord that is plugged in to a wall socket.

When your CPU shocks you, on the other hand, it mega-hurts..

The CPU Clock runs in Mega-Hertz, the CPU runs on D.C. Power doesn't it?

    Constant Hurts with D.C. Voltage instead of Alternating Hurts ? ? ??? ??? ? ?
