From Thomas Bampi@VERT to Digital Man on Friday, February 23, 2018 21:49:02
Hi Digital Man question ... I installed the 3.17a version of Synchronet for windows, when I try to do any operation on the user editor (delete, block, modify, etc.) when I want to save the changes gives me the following error: "cannot open file c: \ sbbs \ data \ user / user.dat"
The file path is correct (in fact I can see other users too) but when I make changes and I want to save them I get the error message, what can it be?

    Hello and thanks
    Thomas

I've seen the same error. As a workaround, I've found that after you open the user editor, you can close the Synchronet control panel and then save the changes in the user editor, then start the Synchronet control panel again.

Something has that file open for exclusive access. Try restarting sbbsctrl.exe.

Same here. I usually will exit the control panel, do what I need in
the user editor, then restart the control panel.
