Just came across it in some old archives. It hasn't been used on
Vertrauen in many years because I very rarely try and RIP-enabled
telnet/terminal programs.
I'm actually in the process of fully RIPping Valhalla on my test
machine, as time permits. I like Synchronets rip capibilities, and
think it would be a nice addition to Valhalla. It's been about 20
years I guess since I've done quality RIP screens, so getting back
into it has been a challenge, but the opld programs and using them are
slowly coming back to me. I'll let you know
What terminal program are you using for testing it?
I'm using RIPtel for a com program, and RIPpaint to do the screens. Of course, rippaint has it limitations as you have to use dosbox to run it. The only modern program that still supports a rip terminal is HTMLterm by Rick. I'd love to see syncterm support it, but for all intence and purposes, RIP is dead, only a few still use it :(
I looked at sixel also yesterday, and I'm not sure yet, but that may be a good alternative to rip, but I need to study it more, as I know nothing about it. The good thing is, it will be supported by syncterm.
