    Hey Deuce heres an idea....

How about a mailform.ssjs to use as a form action for Synchronet related tasks? Obviously it can be expanded upon but heres my first thought...

For Echomail Network's it can use form field names to specify and activate certian things.

value="HostAddressFTN" - when used, it will add a node entry for that node in your config for the person applying:

    XN_CHAT XN_CHAT 782:130/103 782:330/104 etc...

So anything with 782*.* it'll add it to that.

    Example for this:

Please Enter The Echomail Network you are applying to:

    [ ] Xpresit
    [ ] SSN

    Xpresit would be like:

    value="HostAddressFTN782"

    Could also have value="HOSTQWKID"

    Example:

Please Enter your BBS QWK ID:

It would then take their QWK ID and in the output of the form, specify the correct setup info for QWK and create the BBS account in the user base with the correct QWK Flags.

You can ask for things like the password for QWK or FTN, the password for a binkp, etc... FTN session (the form would email the sysop with all this info to let them know an FTN node needs to be setup in the mailer with this info).

It could ask how many days of backmail they want (QWK pointers and / or FTN Rescan).

You could specify in there somplace an FTN nodelist addressing format and
have it add the nodelist entry directly based on varibles.

For example -- 782:130/*.* is Illinois.

So the form would give them a 782:130/ address with the addy that is next available when they specify Illinois as their state.

So lets say, 100, 101, 102 and 103 are already taken. It would add them to
the nodelist as 104 and put that info in Synchronet's mail tosser. They'd
have a feed immediately -- but until DM gets a binkp daemon in Synchronet, it would simply alert the Sysop that a new node needs to be setup and give them the info.

It could output a synchronet setup file that would be available for download for them to import the network based on the sysop's configuration.

All kinds of neat things could be done.

The Sysop would always get a copy, so "unreconglized values" would simply be treated as regular html form values. This could also be used for a web based subsciption form for the listserv.

It could also be used to email a network's info pack directly to the
    specified email address.

This type of form action could email people other things on request too...

System stats for the day, week, month or year for the BBS (how many people have called, what protocols were used, the people who called the most are
from "this" location, how many messages have been posted, files uploaded and downloaded, etc...

your ssjs could do all these things altho the Sysop would have to create the mail form and would just have a list of the values that it can call from the ssjs.

This type of form could be very useful and be expanded upon indefinately.
