    OK, libcap2-dev is already installed, so it was there when I just rebuilt
    sbbs.

    ³ Then perform the step detailed here:

    Ran setcap as instructed. Started sbbs. I get a bunch of
    "!seteuid FAILED / Operation not permitted" messages whenever sbbs tries to start a service thread that uses a port. Then I get a seg fault that I
    will email you about. I don't think it works. :)

    I tried it here (on Ubuntu 16.04) and it worked. Did you try just running 'sbbs' (without a special script) after doing the setcap step?

    The seg fault is something with cryptlib, as I've been emailing you about.

    The script also contains my export commands for the environmental
    variables, but I can give it a shot.
