• DoveNet stopprd working.

From Tony Langdon@VERT to All on Thursday, January 11, 2018 16:32:00
I've got my Synchronet BBS back up (more or less), after having to rebuild it from scratch. I've setup Dove, as well as a number of FTN nets. The FTN nets are all working. Dove was working for a day or two (I was able to log into my old QWKnet account on Vert), but I haven't seen mail there for a week or so. Any reason QWK networking with Vert should suddenly stop working?

If I try and force a QWK session, the system seems to poll, but no mail comes in.

    Running SBBS 3.17 here.

What's the QWK-ID? If you login with QWKnet account using Telnet, you can check your scan configuration and pointers from the QWK: prompt. Double-check that everything's in order. You could even download a QWK packet that way if you wanted to, just as a test.

The odd thing is it was working then suddenly I simply stopped receiving mail, but I will check online.

    QWK ID is FREEWAY.

I did check online. Lastreat pointers are all sitting around Jan 4. I did wind them back by 16 hours, to see if that would make any difference, but apparently not. Still not getting any mail.

    Checking with FTP, I get:

    get vert.qwk
    local: vert.qwk remote: vert.qwk
    200 PORT Command successful.
550 No QWK packet created (no new messages)

Given that this echo is (or at least was to my knowledge) gated to Dove, I find that surprising. I'm not seeing mail here. Something weird is going on (or I'm overlooking something so obvious I'm missing it :) ).

I'll have to get with you sometime via email. I try to connect via

    Same here.

Okay, it appears your QWK call-out command line is wrong:
Jan 9 19:15:27 cvs sbbs: ftp 0058 !FREEWAY file (/FREEWAY.qwk) not found for RETR command
Jan 9 19:15:28 cvs sbbs: ftp 0058 FREEWAY logged off

You're trying to download FREEWAY.QWK instead of VERT.QWK. Compare your configuration with this: http://wiki.synchro.net/howto:dove-net

Crossing wires and confusing the conversation there. Someone on FSXnet gave me settings to try on Irex, if you're up for it. Otherwise, I will be able to go back to QWK for you.

Thanks again, fixing the command line did the trick. I'm receiving Dove-Net mail now. I must have changed it for some reason around a week ago.
