For those who may have wondered why me and my board have disappeared from the IRC network and elsewhere...my hosting company is doing "emergency network maintenance" which has turned into "looking into the server issue" so I'm going to be down until they get it back up again.

Unfortunately I don't have a recent backup otherwise I'd move it elsewhere. A lot of good Cyber Monday deals out there still available on hosting.

Do all the Cyber Monday deals come with days of downtime while they "investigate" ? :)

My BBS runs on a $20 a month Linode. I've never had an outage of more than 30 minutes when it had to migrate to a different cluster. I actually pay an extra $5 a month for nightly snapshots, so if someting goes horribly wrong, I can just boot off of yesterday's backup.

I host bbs's on linode myself. They have great uptime, for sure. I host over 20 servers through them...
