I am trying to setup email on my Synchronet system but am getting relay errors when I try to send mail from
yahoo or any other source to a user on the BBS. It rejects it and bounces the message back to the sender
with the following error:


1272 SMTP ILLEGAL RELAY AATEMPT from user@yahoo.com [98.137.66.147] to user@bbs.midsouth.com


I know this is probably a setting I am over looking. Can someone please help?

The domain name "bbs.midsouth.com" needs to be listed in SCFG->Networks->Internet->Address or in your ctrl/domains.cfg file.

It's now allowing mail. However, the mail is not showing up in the BBS users box and I'm getting the following
error when an email is being delivered.

TIMEOUT in socketreadline (120 seconds) INACTIVE SOCKET

It sounds the mail is not be successfully receive (delivered). Is it possible you have something interferring with traffic on TCP port 25 (like an anti-virus or Internet "security" software)? Can you try port 587 instead?
