I don't quite get the reference, and it was a long time ago now.

OJ Simpson (US football player) was in a white FORD bronco truck going down the five lane wide highway with a huge line of police cars behind him... they were after him for the deaths of his wife and another
guy... there was a huge trial all over the news here... took months for that shit to finally end...

Actually a couple years if I remember.. I remember seeing the OJ simpson chase on the news in 1994, and I think it was 1996 when the trial finally ended. I got tired of hearing about it after a while.

that may have been the start of when our media got out of control with the coverage. they found out how much money they could make off of these situations.

The series that aired recently (last year?) was really good though. The summary: Though OJ got off, he really lost all his friends and status in the community in the process. And Robert Kardashian figured he was guilty by the end of the trial and was as surprised at the verdict as most of the country. It was very entertaining - the Christopher Darden actor/character was particularly good.

And as an aside, sometimes I hear commercials that mention a web site
for the company/organization that say the URL has backslashes in it
(for instance, "H T T P colon backslash backslash), and I always cringe
at that.. URLs don't use backslashes, they use forward slashes. It
seems a lot of people confuse forward slashes and backslashes, but it's not that hard..
