    I set my external editor and it is always getting reset back to no external editor. Running 3.16c

    Could be a permissions thing? What do you have the access requirements set to for the editor in SCFG?

    The default settings that SBBS had when I installed it. ANSI AND NO UNIX... but now to think of it I may know what happend. I logged into my BBS on my android tablet and the term software sometimes isnt detected as ANSI, so SBBS might be resetting the external editor.

    I've noticed one reason that will happen is if your terminal type doesn't
    match the terminal type required by the editor (for instance, if the editor requires ANSI and you're not using an ANSI-capable terminal).

    Yes, that sounds exactly like the problem. This behavior was actually "fixed" in CVS back in October of last year, so the next release (and the current development build) won't behave the way you described.
