Great, I have it setup and am trying to get it going.

When I first setup I had my node setup as .1 in all my nets and I was using a packet password with .0. I have just reconfigured and running as a full node rather than as a point.

Since I did that I am getting a password error because I don't use a packet password with most of my links. Is it possible to use a different password for tics than the packet password?

BTW, in my wildest dreams I never thought that I would find things like tickit binkp and freqit in synchronet, but if you are going to implement it I will surely use it.. :)

You really should not use a packet or TIC password. they are sent in plain text, and if you're not using dialup are worse than useless.

    Hello Duece,

I've noticed in the last little bit that when files arrive (that don't have a file_id.diz) the file description starts with the file size, is that intentional? I get some files from a link using allfix that don't include "Size" in the tics so those descriptions start with "undefined ...".

I also noticed that one file arrived without a file_id.diz and it had a fairly long description and an extended description was created for it. Nice touch. :)

No, that sounds like an addfiles/files.bbs usage bug in tickit... I'll take a look tonight.

Heh, if it's in the spec, TickIT tries to support it... glad to hear some hatch programs are using it. :-)

Whatever you did it seems to be working as expected now. Descriptions seem to have a space in front of them though, but that's minor.

That's been a pain in my ass for a long time. I've gone as far as moving a file out of the way and importing a file that just contains a file_id.diz (if I have a description) and then moving the original file back in place. :)

Thank you so much. Beer & pizza is on me the next time your in town. :)

I should have mentioned earlier that that is only when the description is taken from the tic. If the file contains a file_id.diz there is no problem.

    Minor bugs is still bugs!

Is it just the extended descriptions that have the extra space?

When it happens, it is in both the one line and the extended description. I just ran tickit on 6 files and three of them start with a space and three of them don't. I don't know why, they were all imported in the same run.

Can you give me an example of the addfiles command line tickit is using along with a look at the files.bbs it is importing?

I ask because tickit is getting a better job done of importing descriptions than I have been able to do myself with addfiles and a files.bbs. I think I need to edit my files.bbs before running addfiles on it but I'm not sure what it should look like.

I'm also having this problem with tickit 1.23 so I'm using 1.22 for now.

    The files.bbs file format is:

what happens to files with LFNs??

    eg: nasm21106.zip
    REGIONSET.ZIP
    binkd2klibc-15-08-14.zip
    json4C++.zip

i'm not sure if the last one qualifies as LFN but it does use '+' which may have problems on some systems...

what happens to files with LFNs??

Synchronet does not yet support LFNs in file bases. It will translate a short FN to a long one when possible (ie: on Windows), but the file database itself is limited to 8.3

i'm not sure if the last one qualifies as LFN but it does use '+' which may have problems on some systems...

    The + shouldn't be a problem.

TickIT runs as a timed event, so wherever you timed event are logging to (e.g. the "Events" window in SBBSCTRL-Win32).
