hi can someone tell me why when i try to install a animated prompt with the info documented here, its not doing anything?

*UPDATE* New version v1.1 corrects the problem that some sysops reported
with 2400bps users complaining of undo delays. The prompt
viewer (included) will let you know if the PAUSExx.BIN in
question is up-to-date. (If it says v1.1 then it's okay)

The archive, ANIPMT12.ZIP contains the following files:

    ANIPRMT.DOC - This file
PSE_EXEC.ZIP - Animated pause prompt .BIN files and one example .SRC
Unzip this file directly into your exec directory.
    PSE_EXEC.ZIP contains:
PAUSE01.BIN - Animated pause prompt file
    PAUSE02.BIN - " "
    PAUSE03.BIN - " "
    PAUSE04.BIN - " "
    PAUSE05.BIN - " "
    PAUSE06.BIN - " "
    PAUSE07.BIN - " "
    PAUSE08.BIN - " "
    PAUSE09.BIN - " "
    PAUSE10.BIN - " "
    PAUSECHK.BIN - Prompt viewer
PSE-XMPL.SRC - Example pause prompt source
    PSE-XMPL.SRC - Archive description

Included in PSE_EXEC.ZIP is a previewer that will allow you to view each prompt in action. Just type ;EXEC *PAUSECHK from the Main Menu of a local
node to see tham. If you see one that you like then edit your TEXT.DAT file (located in ..\SBBS\CTRL) and change line 563 to read "@EXEC:PAUSExx@" where "xx" is the two digit, zero padded number of the prompt file.
That's it! You can also play with the included PSE-XMPL.SRC and experi- ment with different animated prompts of your own.

i have tried editing line 563 and inputting the command between the quotes and rebooting board loggin in and it still doesnt show the animaged prompts.
any ideas from guys who understand the programming would be extremely appreciated!

    thanx in advance
    dan

did you check and see if it really works by doing the exec command?
that's an old animated pause script.

you should just be able to put it into your text.dat, put the files where they need to go and then make sure nobody's online, and login and it will show the pause
