From Psi-Jack@VERT/DECKHVN2 to All on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 17:49:51
    Hey,

I'm curious if anyone knows of an existing useful javascript-written (preferably) or Baja bulletin mod for Synchronet. Bullseye is nice, but I personally want something a little more dynamic that I can configure in a config file or something with the name and path to the basename of the file(s) for displaying the bulletin entries, and it would automatically list off the bulletin items and display the appropriate .asc/.msg or .ans of that entry in whatever path is configured.

This would be for showing door game bulletins, like for BRE etc.. hence why I want configurable paths as to not have to setup symlinks or copy the bulletin files over to a specific place and name them, etc.

If there is one that anyone knows exists, I'd be curious to see it. :)

    Thanks,

in sbbs/text/bullseye.cfg you can specify the paths to the bulletins... max has
some from text, some from docs and some from various door games listed... then she manually edited the bullseye.asc file to list them in the proper order...

no symlinks or copying needed ;)

i'm pretty sure bullseye and other bulletin mods do just that.

Heh, while this is true.. Editing those ASC files in Linux can be quite tedious. vim does some funky display issues when editing a file with a bunch of ^A's in it. I've already tried that basically, and been bitten by it. :)

That is one thing I do like about it. One thing I don't so much like about it is, I wish it were written in JavaScript so I could mod it myself to do more. :)
