From daniel davis@VERT/STOMPINT to All on Sunday, June 21, 2015 13:36:20
hi have any of you fellow synchronet users ever had the issue where you import a echo base and when trying to areafix you get the error unknown echo area?

i have totally uninstalled the area deleted all data files for it and cleared it from areas.bbs than reinstalled it and same error.
my NC gave me the .na file himself and he says his side isnt showing the error so its gotta be a internal synchronet thing?

Did you create the network first, prior to importing the .na file? I played with the file you sent me, and it imported no problem, and then exported no problem as well.

yes the network is up and running netmail goes in and out not a prob, the problem is if i run areafix the only command that gives me a response is %list the rest of em respond back with unknown echo area, but, i dont know if i am gonna keep worrying over this, its only one msg area and the others i got work great so i may just drop it

i don't think the problem is in his configuration... from what i've been reading and understanding, it is when the OP sends the areafix message to the remote to turn the area on... if i'm understanding correctly, it is when the areafix reply comes back that he is told that the area does not exist...

we need to see the message text that he's sending to the remote areafix... minus the password, of course...

whatever echotag he's listing in the areafix message body has to be the same as
the on for that area in the .NA file...

Why don't you post the actual areafix message you're sending to your uplink minus your password in the subject box as well as the reply message you're getting so we can see what's happening.

what do you get back with %help??

I think the last part you wrote may be the problem the echolist is kind of convoluted with a lot of Rem statements, for zone specific echos.
