• Ext Prog Section XTRN_SEC

From Skatin@VERT to All on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 20:31:19
    Hello,

Is it possible to navigate to a specific external program section from the main menu using the internal code name (or number) of that section? I would like to skip the option to choose between main & games and go directly to the games section.

Example of what I'm trying to accomplish:

    exec_bin xtrn_sec(2)
    exec_bin xtrn_sec(GAMES)

    Thanks!

That wasn't a feature already present, but since it seemed like a good idea and
easy to do, I went ahead and added it. Just download http://cvs.synchro.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/exec/xtrn_sec.js into your Synchronet "exec" directory and then you should be able to pass the internal code (e.g. "games") to the xtrn_sec module, like so (from Baja):

    exec_bin "xtrn_sec games"

The modification works great! I wanted to move certain external sections into some menus so that they feel more integrated into those areas. I also wanted to hide a few external sections so that specific doors could only be accessible from certain menus. Overall, I think it gives a nice clean appearance to the board.

    Thanks again!
