From Khelair@VERT/TINFOIL to All on Monday, December 01, 2014 22:25:49
Hey, just wanted to mention that some of the behavior for the 'action' commands seems a little bit lacking in an area... I've got a few people on my system right now and we're enjoying it, but just a bit ago I typed something that started with the word 'punch', and it automagically went back and inserted the punch macro.
While this seems to be the right kind of behavior for just the keyword, and (at least in some cases) for the keyword and a recipient (ie punching someone, whatever), in this case it had nothing to do with anything like that. Wouldn't it be a better behavior to, if the keyword is detected, scan the following text for user ids, and if none are found, then default to not displaying action macro text? I think it would be safe to assume in that case that the keyword has been used in a different way, and should not be expanded.
Another possible way for dealing with this that I was thinking of is requiring a symbol to designate that the action macro should be expanded...
Just my own thoughts on the issue. I know y'all are busy with lots of things these days, too... If you guys don't feel like hopping on that, would you want to take a peek at a couple of ideas I have for modifying the source and trying out some new behaviors?
    TIA

Sure. It's not an oft-used feature, so it wouldn't be an immediately high priority for me.
