Hello everyone. I was a BBS Sysop way back in the 80's but I seem to
have forgotten more then I should admit.
I've been working on getting sbbs and binkd up and running on a Linux
box. I put in a temp fidonet address of 1:140/999 in binkd and sbbs.
My directory structure is like:
/sbbs/
/sbbs/fido/inbound
/sbbs/fido/outbound
/sbbs/fido/binkd (Holds node list and binkd.log)
/sbbs/fido/inbsecure
/sbbs/fido/incomplete
/sbbs/fido/nodelist
I wrote a netmail message to the local RC and it saved the message in /sbbs/fido/outbound as 1.msg. When I manually run sbbsecho -linf it
gives me the following:
zeus exec # ./sbbsecho -linf
SBBSecho v2.27-Linux (rev 1.250) - Synchronet FidoNet Packet Tosser
Loading configuration files from /sbbs/ctrl
Reading /sbbs/ctrl/sbbsecho.cfg
Reading /sbbs/data/areas.bbs
Scanning for Stray Outbound Packets...
Scanning for Outbound EchoMail...
Scanning sbbs -> SYNCHRONET
No new messages.
Scanning syncdata -> SYNCDATA
No new messages.
Scanning sync_sys -> SYNC_SYSOPS
No new messages.
Packing Outbound NetMail from /sbbs/fido/outbound/
I've got binkd -m -vv /etc/binkd/binkd.cfg running in another window and
it just sits there and does nothing. I thought sbbsecho should create a semaphore file that binkd would see to send the mail along. I can post
my binkd config if needed. I have a copy of the latest nodelist for
binkd. Is there something I'm missing in sbbs? I'm just kinda lost as
to what my next steps for debugging this are.
