Something strange is going on with my system. Everyday when I logon to my bbs, the external editor is gone, and the default editor oneline editor is back. If I go in and change it back, it works fine while I post messages. If I logoff, it will stay with the external editor most of the time, but sometimes it won't, but the next day, it always changes back to the one line editor. I am using SlyEdit v1.39, with no apparent issues. I have changed passwords, so no one is getting in under my name changing things that I can see. Any Ideas Guys. As always, thanks.

It sounds like it's gone from your user preferences (and not from Synchronet altogether)? I've noticed that can happen if you ever disable ANSI or log in without an ANSI-capable terminal - Since ANSI is a requirement for an editor such as SlyEdit, Synchronet will default back to the line editor if you are not using ANSI.

What terminal software do you use? With SyncTerm, I've noticed that there is a key you can hold while logging into a BBS which seems to disable ANSI capability. I only know that because I've accidentally done it a few times.

You may have hit the nail on the head. I've noticed a few times that I have logged in, it was ascii. I do use SyncTerm on a my Mac. I don't know what key you are talking about, but I do know the server has been running for over a month without a reboot, and the problem has just cropped up this week, so maybe a reboot is in order. Thanks for sheding light on this, as it was driving me crazy.... As if I needed help in the crazy department LOL
