• Noob questions

    I have Synchronet server up and running, however, i cant seem to login locally or find my local IP for the server.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    dear george hard-on,

    chances are, your local server can be reached by telnetting to 'localhost' on port 23. i'd recommend familiarizing yourself with your router and port forwarding and such because your question leads me to believe that's going to be a problem for you as well.

    If you want to log in locally, you should be able to use localhost or
    127.0.0.1 for the machine name/IP address.

    To get the local IP address for your server, you can open a command prompt and type ipconfig if in Windows or ifconfig if in Linux. Either of those commands will show the local IP address of your machine.

    Also, if you have a software firewall, check those settings. A firewall may
    be preventing you from being able to connect.
