I read a suggestion to make a command.com door for SysOps only to set up doors etc. Can someone explain how to do this? I tried making a door and for the external program specified the full path and filename of command.com in DosEmu's directory. I set intercept I/O to standard with echo. Still nothing.

You might want to look into CIOXTRN (in Synchronet's xtrn directory). CIOXTRN is supposed to be able to launch text-mode/DOS programs like doors. There's also the old Doorway door, which is a 16-bit DOS door that can run DOS programs as BBS doors. CIOXTRN is newer though (and was developed by Deuce for use with Synchronet).

Oh yeah I forgot about doorway. I'll check out CIOXTRN, thanks.

yeah, it will work to some extent but not with some door setups.
    doorway redirects the output.

    either way, vnc is better.

If anyone's on Windows, I'd suggest you take a look at Remote administrator from Famatech (http://www.famatech.com). Their remote product supports file transfers, chat, and view-only, selectable ports, and uses encryption. It'll do Kerberos or support its own user db.

The speed is MUCH better than anything I've gotten out of VNC. I've gotten in the habit of running Syncterm locally on the BBS and remoting into it from work (I'm doing that now, should be working instead)

    $49 per system.
