Ok. I saw mc, a JS port of Milliway's Casino. I loved playing this game on WWIV. Unfortunately the 4 doors give errors, references to things not found etc I can post something more detailed if needed. Or do I have to do something special?

I tried getting the JS version of KNK to work. It displayed a bunch of weird characters. I had to run the reset command in my shell to reset my terminal.

On that note I installed the TERMINFO file. However I got an missing separater error at the end of the file. I added a comma and tic compiled it. Not sure if this relates.

Thanks for the help. And I promise god's gift to BBSing I'll get to the DOS games soon. I tried getting Barneysplat! to work. The opening
screen loads, I hit a key, then it returns. Hmm....
The dosemu.log says something about an unknown console. I'll keep playing.

Please post the details. Your error.log should have more information.

I tried getting the JS version of KNK to work. It displayed a bunch of
weird characters. I had to run the reset command in my shell to reset my terminal.

Which terminal were you using? KNK attempts to use SyncTERM/BANSI/ANSI music, but does attempt to reset the terminal properly at the end. If I know what terminal is messing up, I can add more recovery to KNK.

On that note I installed the TERMINFO file. However I got an missing separater error at the end of the file. I added a comma and tic compiled
it. Not sure if this relates.

That's only used when running *nix terminal programs via the BBS, so "no". It's weird that I haven't got that error before though.

How did you download the file? Is it possible that you have a copy with CR/LF at the end of the line rather than a bare LF?

games soon. I tried getting Barneysplat! to work. The opening

Barneysplat! Do you still have the source? I'll update it for FREE!

Hi, thanks for your help. Regarding Milliways, Blackjack and Baccarat give the following errors respectively:

    Mon Jan 27 2014 03:44 pm behindthecurtain.us
Node 1 !JavaScript /home/bbs/sbbs/xtrn/mc/mc.js line 519: ReferenceError: twenty1 is not defined

    Mon Jan 27 2014 03:44 pm behindthecurtain.us
Node 1 !JavaScript /home/bbs/sbbs/xtrn/mc/mc.js line 524: ReferenceError: stranger_does_kathy is not defined

I just use the standard Linux term and telnet utility. KNK just looks totally weird. Interestingly, I tried the original MSDOS version and it had the same result. Good news: I got BarneySplat! working, and have a new version in the works.

    Thanks, fixed in CVS.

I fixed that one a day or two ago... it popped up in my error log.

    KNK just looks totally weird.

CP437 ANSI-BBS is assumed by most BBSs. This is not what the Linux term does.

    KNK just looks totally weird.

This is due to the ANSI Music detection leaving the terminal in a bad state... I keep intending to fix that.

Austin Seraphin (Ascii Express) is the author. He just reopened his BBS not long ago, telnet://behindthecurtain.us.

I remember him saying a few months ago that he had revised Barneysplat. I think
his new version is available on that BBS. Not sure if it was ported to other platforms, or just an update of the original DOS code.

You can also read an interview I did with him here: http://breakintochat.com/blog/2013/05/08/austin-seraphin-creator-of-barneysplat

It sounds like you are describing a later port of the game for Synchronet, written in Baja?

Definitely a port, not the original.

FWIW, here's a link to some old messages from 1999 when hkb announced his "Barney Splat":

    http://www.sectiononebbs.com/msgs/msgs.ssjs? msg_sub=syncbaja&offset=200&sort_date=ascending

As soon as he announced it, he immediately got messages from people saying things like "I've ran a game on my boards for about 4 years under the same name" or "Do you mean that you've translated Ye Olde Barneye Splate into a BAJA?"
