Pity about Steinbrenner, but I can't help to think it's a great relief to the baseball world. Maybe now we can get a salary cap instituted & somebody OTHER THAN the Yankees can win a world series.

Er. When's the last time the Yankees won the world series? I know last year they didn't, or the year before, or the year before.. or.. well, you get what I'm saying now.

Just because they're the most overpaid team, doesn't mean they can win every year. :)

Salary Cap in Baseball?? Never gonna happen. I believe they already have a luxury tax in place and it took forever to even get that instituted.

There is no way baseball is going to risk another strike or lockout cause that would kill them for sure if it happens again.

Yes it was a big loss to the baseball world for Sheppard and Steinbrenner passing away from old age and a heart attack. The voice of the old Yankee stadium and new Yankee stadium will no longer be heard. Let alone in the area of Giants and Jets new stadium and old stadium. I think in a way it was a shame that Steinbrenner news of his passing took over the news world over Sheppard's death or passing. Except you can't control the news media. When it comes to the fact of the matter of Steinbrenner being the Owner of the Yankees and leading them to many Championships through lots of money. Again like i said you can't control the media. Maybe what you said above was kinda cold hearted. I say this only since though you did say that it was a pity
that the man died. That you also said that you can't wait for changes to be made in the baseball world such as salary caps and a even playing field. We shall see if that still happens. Just remember a human being died, not to mention Sheppard who was a great human being. He just did his job annoucing games. So he was the announcer of the Yankees so what. He did his job even though he did it for the Yankee orginization.

Now would i like to see a salary cap, and the teams on a
level playing field. Sure i do, since i never liked New York teams. They
seem to dominate the news around here when it comes to sports. That is why i root for Eagle NFL football, NJ DEVILS, and TORONTO BLUE JAYS for baseball along with the ST. LOUIS CARDINALS. Also the ARIZONA CARDINALS for the NFL. Never root for a New York team in any sport. It is not cold hearted to say that. It is just plain fact that as a baseball fan that it is time to see other teams have a chance to win the world series.

I think at that time my point was more of.. having the biggest payroll by far, and NOT winning every world series. But sure.. Thank you for correcting me.

You're welcome. I'm not a pin-stripes fan, but I wouldn't be shocked at all if they win it all again this year. They have a good team.

Neither am I, whatsoever. With all the money they pay out for the top players in the game, it's actually a little surprising they don't win more. Which
makes it even better when they do lose. :)

We tried keeping Sabathia last year and offered him a damn good amount of money, only to be beat out by the Yankees (by a looooong shot, I might add).

Yet another year the Brewers don't make the playoffs. There's always next year! lol

    .
but THANKS THINKTANK for the support.

but the Yankmees and the Twins are struggling too.

but the ESPN boys seem to like pickin' on raysfans and ignoring the team otherwise.
