It was a great race, but long with those red flags, fixing the pavement and neat to see Jamie win, or any of the drivers that haven't had a win in years.

    Onward to California..

My wife even found his Shell Indy car, 1/16th scale, it's huge, bigger than the normal scale cars. It was neat.

I think NASCAR needs to stop being douches and put the 600 race back to the right time so Drivers can pull double duty and race in the indy 500 in the morning.

I guarantee Tony would try it again if he had enough time to get to the 600 after the 500. THe last time he did he finished 6that Indy and 2nd in charlotte.

That was the year when CART was still around and their drivers went 1-5 and Tony was 6th then it was IRL drivers after that.

On HBO, they have a Jimmie JOhnson special, 4 or 5 shows or something. On Speed channel, they had a series about Joe Gibbs Racing, I didn't get to see any of it.

Sunday, one of the announcers said Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, and Denny Hamlin as part of Joe Gibb's racing... I was waiting for a correction to put JOey's name out there, but never did. Wonder what JGB and Home Depot thought.

Yeah it turns out that they had to red flag it twice or three times. One of the drivers, name i forgot had a tire going down due to the track deteriating. Until finally a hole appeared and that was when they repaired it. I wonder if there was a bit of controversy since some of the drivers stated that they rather not have the Daytona track repaved, just to leave it as is. Do you think they are jepordizing their saftey if the track
is getting old or run down and they don't want it repaved? That sooner or later a devestating accident could occur? One can only wonder.

Well you said repave it. I am for the idea, but, like i said before the history of the track stated by the drivers themselves. Stating
that they rather not have the track repaved brings up a bit of controversy about saftey on the Daytona 500 race track. And other aging race tracks.
Where do you draw the line from saftey to non saftey where a peice of concrete or asphalt will kill or injure a driver or cause them to hit the outside or inside wall. Endless possibilities and senarios there if repaving old tracks isn't done. Forget about history of the tracks, lets keep saftey first the track itself will always be the same. Another way to put it, is like taking
an old baseball stadium and building a new one. Why not just build a new race track, instead of leaving the old one risking more problems.

Well whenever they do repave the track, and not only Daytona but other tracks too. At least the tracks that are showing major signs of wear
and tear. You are probably right though, after the july event at Daytona they will consider taking the time to repave it.

Upon the date of this message that i haven't learned or heard anything to have more information available upon if they did re pave the track all ready or have plans to repave it. I got to wait to next season which is kind of rushing upon us to see if anything changed since then.
