• God IS Good

From Newborn@VERT/HDCAFE to All on Thursday, February 21, 2008 22:52:00
The phase "God is good, all the time; all the time, God is good" is repeated by many Christians almost like a manta. Have you sometimes wondered if they really believe it or even think about what they're saying?

It sometines can be easy to doubt God's goodness-especially when it feels as though God isn't hearing or answering prayer. I assume that if others were honest, they'd admit they feel the same way.

Are you tempted to doubt God's goodness? If so remind yourself that your circumstances aren't a barometer of God's goodness-the CROSS is. God has
show His goodness by dying for our sin's on the cross.

We can't rely on our feelings. But day by day as we choose to trust Him more and more we CAN learn to believe with confidence that God is good and ALL that He does is good.

"When you are tempted to deny
    God's goodness, love, and grace,
Look to the cross of Calvary,
Where Jesus took your place." - Sper

    Newborn:

Remember that prayer does not mean request. You always need to pray for someone else, let someone else pray for you.
I believe man in his weakness tends to pray selfishly adding self serving content to prayer don't you? I mean, it is very normal and very human but we tend to do it and we tend to critize the Lord for not giving us our prayer answers just the way we want them to be.

Blessings to you and keep up keeping up!
When you share the Lord you are in church. You are on track.

I believe that prayer is a 'two way street'. It is a communication between you and the Lord thru the Holy Spirit and is not meant to convey our selfish wants and desires. The Lord commanded us to 'pray always' and so we should offer up our requests speaking to Him of our needs. It is the Lord who makes the final decision, but we can and should speak to Him and leave the answers
    to Him.

You are right is saying that we should pray for others, but, I think we should acknowledge Him in everything we pray about. Man is often selfish in his requests and doesn't give the Lord credit, but, that is often due like you say because we expect His answer to be as we desire, not as the Lord deems proper.

I don't believe that there is unanswered prayer, only that we fail to see
the responce of the Lord because it may not reflect our own will.
