What do you think of the Mayan 2nd artifact that the Mexican government says has hints about 2012? I think the Mayans just had calenders and we are making way too much out of them. Is this the end of times?

From what I know, the Mayan calender ends at 2012 simply because of their numbering system. That is, its like saying the world is going to end in 31st Dec, 9999 AD because thats the last date using our current day/month/year date format.

I would take what the Mexican government says with a grain of salt.

Well, it is written stone ya know!

I'm more worried about a collapse of the western financial system and the chaos that would ensue afterwards. Many reputable economists have said that it could happen soon and some are predicting a Mad Max scenerio.

Who knows...life is often much stranger than fiction!

Wasn't the world supposed to end on May 21st of this year and then again in October? If it did; I missed it!

No Mad Max scenario. A hyundai doesn't make a good interceptor.

I think what will do the West is, is not financial issues. Western nations have always recovered from those and propsered. What will do the west in, is the demographic changes.
