    /me on one knee...

Is there a javascript module that can be used to extract individual
    messages from the message bases?

If not, would one general purpose JS file be hard to write?

I was thinking about this. If in order to make this the SWISS Army knife
of coders, it could be used in conjunction with a config file to specify
things like message base to read from. Output file. What to search for
(Subject line, To line, From line)

    Sample Config.file

    Syncdata read from
..\xtrn\game\data.fil write to blank = screen
From: Finnigann Search criteria blank = *
TO: Gamename Search criteria blank = *
Subject: week 1 Search criteria blank = *
Date Range: 175/182 (Julian dates?) Filter values blank = *
    EOF

Of course other options may present themselves to the gifted programmer,
This is all I can think of for now. Perhaps Command line switches would
    be an option too.

One does not exist, but there are plenty of examples of extracting messages from the message bases in exec/*.js

    Nope.

If you let us know what you want to accomplish it should be possible.

I was thinking of sending data thru syncdata sub. SMBUTIL can import
text files, but nothing I know of (and confirmed by DM) exists to
    extract data files OUT.

It all started with JAzzman doing his DoveBall with NFL teams. I
_thought_ it would be helpful if people could send their replies and
have some software EXtract those and somehow parse them into a database
    for analysis.

Later it occoured to me that maybe OTHER games could benefit from being
able to pass data back and forth via syncdata too.

I thought a program.js with a control file to specify the particulars
needed for a particular application would be useful

DM's reply leads me to believe I think more of my idea than he does.

    Nope.

Would you write one? (See line begining /me on one knee)

    Please!

    I'll look at refference files.
